Free Version Installer Update

Posted by SolarPortal 29/01/2018 0 Comment(s)

Hey all Skyline Developers and new users that have yet to try skyline.

Over the past few days, i have been working closely with one of our special users by name of TattieBoJangle who really helped us as he created a brand new installer for skyline that is superseding all installers we are currently using. Many people were downloading skyline and failing to get a successful download.

Tattie happily stepped up to the mark and created an incredibly simple installer that anyone should be able to use.
Along with this, he built in new certificates that stops a lot of the problems thrown by later version of windows. (windows 8 / 10)

This means there is only one single installer for the free version and no more download manager or complicated process of getting skyline running.
The new installer is an easy download on any browser as it is only a few megabytes large. When installing, it will download the latest package from our servers and install to the folder of your choice.

If you are interested in taking a look and give it a test for us all, then please go to this webpage:
Skyline Download Page

This also means, when we upgrade the commercial version in this next release, the new installer will also be used there to guarantee and easy install.

Along with the new installer, we have revised the download process. There is no longer a signup page and no email will be sent anymore, instead, simply click the button and download skyline. You will then be taken to a new page with lots of information on how to get started and more so where to go to get the information.

That concludes this blog, and we want to make a big shout-out to TattieBoJangle for giving us a hand and improving skyline and its impressive installer routine.
Thanks again mate, it means a lot to have the support of our users. Something a corporate engine will never get fully :)

This is Jayce, signing off!.... laterz!
