Hi Friends,
For the next gripping installment of Skyline Gen2 demo mini game we are going to start using the code name - The Veil.
We do have a bigger game IP in mind and have been waiting for 5 years to finally get started on it. So we decided that as Gen2 looks and runs great we could finally start working on our own game, obviously this would have to be in between the many tasks that Skyline calls upon us to perform.
So the gen2 mini game now to be referred to as "The Veil" will be a test bed for atmosphere, the main game mechanics and performance loading.
In this game update we will uncover the new Gen Post Effects.
We want our game to go from nice everyday sunlight and natural lighting to a mysterious brooding atmosphere , (best not make the game represent the British Sun light as that usually requires wellies! {That's water proof boots to anyone outside the uk lol} so back on topic the game will need deep atmosphere, this is a great time to show off Gen2's new effects: HDR, HBAO and fog.
The new lighting system is being developed to be able to move from different lighting moods, I will post a blog of this soon. Currently the level's lighting has to be manually setup, so far though we are getting great results. Here are some development images for you to enjoy:
